Back from vacation
Hi,its been a while. One thing is, that we have been on vacation. Another, that blogging is not really my thing. Sometimes I have to say something and this here gives me an excellent platform todo it (although I really doubt that anyone is interested in what I have to say).
We have been to Scotland on vacation. One thing I really liked (except from nice people, great landscape, excellent whisky) was the smoking ban they have in all hotels, restaurants and pub. Finally it was possible to have a nice beer, go home and not take the stink of all the smokers with me.
I really don't mind if someone likes inhaling poisonous stuff, perhaps shortening his life for 10 years or so. If someone likes that, giving up health just for smoking, why not. But why do I also have to inhale their exhaust fumes just because I like a decent beer? I live in Germany, where everybody (well not me) thinks that smokers have the right to smoke in pubs. Bullshit. They can smoke whereever they want, but not where I want to have my beer.
So, I'd rather spend my money in Ireland or Scotland where they understand that nobody goes into a pub to smoke. You go there to meet friends, talk, have food, have a beer (or two). If you want to smoke, step outside for 5 minutes and do so, thats fine with me. And if you come back lets have another beer, then lets go home without having to undress before you enter your apartment because your clothes stink.
